Barcelona Case Pavilion
Barcelona Case Pavilion
Barcelona Pavilion’s unique design, full of unlimited imagination, is a vision without limits. It allows people to observe a true Barcelona through visiting. Narrow “corridor” unveils the true nature of the “space” and it reflects the concept that designers want to change “corridors” into “streets”. Mirror, the orthogonal array elements, mapped windows and the ceiling will decorate the streets in Barcelona.
Two huge standing mirrors appear as basis element. This piece of glass, cleverly balances the role of the lighting, while allowing people well engage in different imagination.
The emergence of the glass mirror creates a mirror box so that items can be shown just as real, some concepts that well reflected in Lewis Carrol’s.
Another important element is to bring people into the design with visual and mobility. That is made possible through the textile ceiling. This piece of work appears as a floating canopy on top of the exhibition hall. This piece shows the vision of the vivid sky in Barcelona. It also serves as a halo from the top ceiling of the exhibition hall.
From this arrangement, one can see the morning, noon and evening perfectly there. Or, through satellite projection, one can attain the vision of Barcelona sky in the exhibition hall.
There is a beautiful poem there for readers to appreciate. This poem well reflects the charm of the city.
Barcelona Pavilion creates the four milestones in architecture history. Micro-architecture shines out of its overall application.
Pavilion’s structure is made of many small windows. Each window is a small separate display platform. And all small windows together become a huge wall screen. This way of using space makes a main part of pavilion exposed under sunlight.
Outside of the pavilion, one can see two public areas. General activities could happen in these areas. There is also a reserved area in the pavilion for visitors to exchange information on the exhibition. Souvenirs from Barcelona and Catalonian kitchens are two subsidiary themes for the main pavilion.
Additional space will be divided into grid pattern. Each small grid area is to use as an interactive platform for visitors or small activities for things such as meetings, lecture and etc.
And there is another small space reserved for technology and equipments. All the performances in six months will need this place to get ready with.
