    Information and Communication Pavilion

The pavilion promises a dream-like light fantasy on its surface. It will take visitors on an interactive fun journey exploring cutting-edge information and communication technologies, their applications and influence over the next 10 years and how they will help usher in a convenient and better life.

The pavilion built by China Mobile and China Telecom uses cold water from the Expo site to regulate the indoor temperature, which helps to reduce energy consumption and emissions. Most of the construction materials can be recycled and reused. The construction materials are environment-friendly, which can mitigate air pollution and noise pollution. The pavilion’s surface will change color.

Highlight 1: Dream Garden – A dream garden is designed in the waiting area outdoor to make interaction accessible to the waiting visitors through mobile phones.

Highlight 2: Advanced Interaction Experience – Visitors can talk to the important figures in the history of communication development, interact with virtual figures in the dream theatre and have a vivid, personal audio-video experience.

Highlight 3: Information and Communication – With the help of a theatre screen and special effects, the application prospects of information communication technologies are displayed. Limitless communication in future societies is shown to the spectators through vivid stories.

Made of recyclable steel and covered with hexagonal panels made from recycled CDs, the Information and Communication Pavilion is one of Expo 2010´s most sustainable structures. Solar panels on the roof help power the pavilion, while a special porous pavement and cisterns capture and recycle water to cool the interior and keep the garden and green roof wet.
