Czech Republic Pavilion
Under the theme of “Fruits of Civilization,” a display will interpret that the birth of city is fruits of civilization. With adoption of technical fruits to create better cities, visitors will discover different fruits of civilization moving from street to street. To explain the theme, the Czech Pavilion will produce a virtual city with spotlight on the use of new technologies.
Combining elements of past and future, the pavilion features sustainable city planning by adopting new century city planning to historical towns. The fusion of historical heritage and modern building will make the pavilion unique which can provide visitors with a pleasant journey.Visitors will experience a fictitious city modeled on the Old Town of Prague, the capital and historical center of the country. The pavilion will take rubber ice-hockey pucks as its facade, which signifies that puck is the significant export item of Czech and ice hockey is the national sport.Visitors will be able to experience a floating city produced by hi-tech. They can appreciate towers in good order while walking on grassland and notice a regular grid of streets above their heads. Besides, visitors can get familiar with the daily life in Czech and its culture through movie projection in the pavilion. The pavilion includes a main hall, a multi-media center, a theme pavilion and a shop selling souvenirs. Each part emphasizes the concept of environmental protection in design. From the exterior, a simulation device of precipitation will lead water into the pavilion, showcasing recyclable use of rainwater to visitors.Visitors will also get active and interact with some of the exhibits in the main hall. The exhibition in the multi-media center will give solutions to city problems of transportation and environment pollution in the Czech way, and present the multicultural heritages in an innovative way.
