    Gansu Pavilion

Gansu Pavilion, employing LED light kit and revivified models in its exterior, demonstrates the glorious culture of Gansu Province through artistic elements of world-renowned Dunhuang Grottoes. The inside displays the vicissitudes and revival of cities along the Silk Road on three themes, and highlights Dunhuang’s history and culture, urban civilization represented by the urban construction achievements since the founding of the PRC and sustainable development concept embodied by circular economy.

Expo 2010′s theme “better city, better life” will showcase people’s reflection on civilization during development, said Qin Yucheng, an expert of human habitation environment and urban planning studies. Gansu should showcase its advanced technology of wind energy, solar energy and nuclear energy during the Expo so that the world will know more about the province, Qin added. Gansu, through which the once prosperous ancient trade route connected China and Europe, boats a galaxy of historic sites and cities. The province is also famous for its natural resources and mining industry. The province will hold its exhibition inside China Pavilion.
