    Chongqing Pavilion

    The shape of the pavilion borrows the elements of Kuimen and steep mountains, highlighting the pattern of “a mountain city surrounded by two rivers.” The three sections and the two interaction areas interpret the city’s changes by presenting the city’s footprints of ecological, cultural and urban development. The pavilion shows Chongqing’s new mode of economic growth and vision of the mountains and forest city system from aspects of Habitable Chonging, Forest Chongqing, and Healthy Chongqing.

    The theme of  Chongqing  pavilion is “mountain forest city” and it  trying to interpret the concept of urban development patterns that “Mountain in the city, the city has mountains, mountain that is the city, the city is Mountain”.  The pavilion  not only  reflect the changes in the city of Chongqing in the process of human natural harmony,reflect the scientific concept of development, but also provide some inspiration for the international community to explore the future direction of urban development.

    The “Chongqing Week” activity has attracted over 160,000 tourists since its opening on August 12, according to the official statistics realeased by Expo Gardon. Chongqing elements are everywhere during the “Chongqing Week”, such as the old city gate and wall in Chongqing Pavilion, enjoying the tourists from both home and abroad. In the 3D Display Hall of Chongqing Pavilion, a fashion concept motorcycle made by Chongqing Construction Group catches many tourists’ eyes. The solar-powered motorcycle which will be produced in batches by the end of 2011 can run 100 kilometres at 60 km/h on one charge.
