Mali Pavilion
Mali Pavilion
Mali Pavilion tries to illustrate what is a better city: nurtured by the heritage of brilliant ancient civilization, the Malian people of different ethnic groups are strongly united. The pavilion showcases Mali’s culture, arts, handicrafts and tourism resources, as well as the hospitality of the Malian people.
By adopting the colors of soil, forest and the Niger River, the pavilion showcases totem artworks of the Malian culture and the historical architecture complex and displays urban culture of Mali. In the ‘Art Treasures’ area, you will see precious local cultural relics: Sudano- Sahelian buildings together with Mali’s modern sculptures. Mali Pavilion will also demonstrate the production processes of Dogon dance’s mask and other splendid handicrafts. Inside a simulated Malian mosque, the production processes of Malian food and the culinary culture will be exhibited. The hospitable Malian people will present their long historical gastronomic tradition. Finally, there is a cultural exhibition area, where the colors of soil, savanna, and the Niger River converge. Walking along the bogolan (a traditional Malian handicraft), the transparent blue calico and the batik fabrics, you will learn about the tourism resources and cultural essence of Mali.
