    Benin Pavilion

Focusing on one of the theme of expo 2010-Interaction between Rural and urban area, Benin tries to present the concepts of developing cities in a comprehensive way and promoting the urbanization of villages.

The pavilion is divided into two exhibition areas: the central area and the secondary area. The central area will mainly display the cultural attractions, traditional housing, arts and handicrafts, while the secondary area will showcase the countryside and cities of Benin. In the central area, you will find yourself immersed in the Royal Palace of Abomey and a historical museum, where you will get to know the rich history and culture of the country. In addition, through the exhibition of highly valuable handicrafts such as bronze reliefs, wood carvings, copper sculptures and ivory carvings, the fascinating and colorful life in Benin will be presented to the visitors.

Highlight 1: Fishing Boat – The central element for the design of Benin Pavilion is the ‘Fishing Boat’,which, together with special local handicrafts and artistic decoration, helps to demonstrate the urbanization process in Benin.

Highlight 2: Splendid Architectural Design – The exterior design of the pavilion draws inspiration from the Royal Palace of Abomey and incorporates its traditional residential buildings ‘TATA’ which look like chateaux. The external appearance of the building is bright and warm with rich colors, bringing you into a romantic wonderland of fairytale.
